The Loveliness of a Personal Lattice-Top Pie

This is a blueberry tart with pie crust that my dear friend Laurel made for me for my birthday. It is long since gone and I will tell you all about my birthday soon. In the meantime, I wanted to give a shout out to handmade personal pies. Eating this right out of its little baking dish made me feel like a queen, especially because it was delicious. We also make personal pies at the bakery in town where I work, Knead bakery, and people are wild about them!

And here’s the big news. Today, while working at said bakery, I learned how to lattice! You know, the criss-crossy dough thing you see here. It’s fun and oh-so-cute.
